At times, looking after the Empress felt much like babysitting a grub (or worse -- one of those
children). She was ungrateful and arrogant, unaware of all the, as Megido would put it, bullshit that went on in order to hand her the world on a silver platter.
me,” Megido replied, standing her ground in front of Amrita’s throne, her hands balled into fists. “Let me muster up the respect that my foul mood made me forget.” Her fists clenched tighter. It wasn’t rare for her veins to be visible when she was truly in a rage. “Here we go.”
She tilted her head up in order to meet the other’s gaze. “Hey, WITCH, how about you stop swimming in your sea of shit and lies and tell me what riverbed you chucked this weeks’ heiress into. Then maybe if by some act of a diety I feel like saving your ass, I might just clean up your coral reef of a mess.”
Say what you would about fish analogies.
But they were kind of infectious.
